The Archaeology and World Heritage Tour takes travelers through Bangladesh’s most significant historical and UNESCO-listed sites. Visitors explore ancient ruins, temples, mosques, and monuments that reflect the country’s rich past. This tour offers a deep insight into history, architecture, and cultural heritage, making it ideal for history lovers and cultural explorers.
Start in the morning from Dhaka and reach Bogra en-route the weaver’s village in Tangail. The handloom industry in Tangail evolved during the last decades of the nineteenth century. The weavers of this Tangail cloth are the successors of the famous Muslin weavers. They were originally from Dhamrai and Chowhatta of Dhaka district and were invited to Tangail by the Jamidars (landlords) of Delduar, Santosh and Gharinda. The weavers made settlements in twenty-two adjacent villages in Tangail. At first they weaved only plain cloth. During 1923–24 motifs and designs were introduced on saree. Jacquard looms were introduced during 1931–1932 for making sarees.
Cross the bridge on mighty river Jamuna (Brahmaputra). En-route visit Nabaratna Hindu temple at Hatikumrul. The Navaratna Temple builds 1704-1728 which is considered one of the largest Nine-spared temples in Bangladesh. Famous of its terracotta ornamentation plaques with flowers, fruits, leaves and deities. After visit drive again to Bogra. Overnight at Bogra.
Drive to the metropolis of 4 century BC, Mahasthangarh, visit the ruins of Gokul Medh, Mahasthan City of Punda dynasty and Local Museum, then drive to Paharpur, the single largest Buddhist monastery of 12 AD, a World Heritage site and the site museum. Drive towards city of silk En-route Kushumba mosque and Varndra museum; see the master pieces of Black stone startles. Overnight at Rajshahi. Called by a City of Silk, or City of Mango stands on the bank of Padma (Ganges)
Visit the bank of Ganges en route Puthia, commonly known as Temple town, visit the heritages around with terra cotta temples, palace and a history of time in the past. Visit to Lalon’s place, the king of the saint singers, who perform spiritual songs. An intangible World Heritage site. Overnight at Kustia.
After breakfast drive to Bagerhat and visit the 60 domed mosque of 15 century AD, a UNESCO World Heritage site and then drive to Mongla port to onboard the tourist vessel for cruising into Sunderbans, a WH site. Cruise to Kotka / Kotchikhali , on way we shall seek forest permission and then cruise through canals, creeks, rivers and river let’s to reach Kotka. Tide is the time decider, when you reach Kotka. Overnight on Board.
Full day activities, boating in the canals, bird watching, walking through the forest to the beach, visiting Bengal Tigers den. Finish with a BBQ Dinner. Start the return journey,
Arrive Mongla and start for Dhaka Cross mighty river Padma (Ganges) & Jamuna (Brahmaputra) . Arrive Dhaka and transfer to Hotel.
Visit the old city of Dhaka, walk through its narrow and colorful streets, Palace, Mosque and the most busy Sadarghat river port. Sahid Minar and Curzon Hall.
